Yo, you've seen these all before but hey, it's the season and time to trot them out again. My creepy Halloween composites. In fact, I think the blue dog in the forest was one of the first composites I ever created. I was super proud of myself because I got the blue of the dog very close to the actual blue of the background photo, for starters, but I also shaded the dog, giving highlights and shadows. That little change made an enormous contribution to the dimensional aspect of it. Anyway, enjoy them once again!
We have a great new opportunity to have your dog's portrait taken! We're going to be in the upper loft of Two Hands, Four Paws in West Los Angeles on June 18 starting at 10 a.m. These will be fine-art, artistic portraits. This isn't just a quickie little shoot at the pet store, each session will last a full half an hour and you will have your choice of two colors (from more than two selections) for backgrounds. The session is $175 and will give you a lot of choices when it comes to selecting your images. I'll be honest, it's sort of a slow time of year for me. I'm itching to photograph some dogs. Really, I am!So I contacted my buddies at Maxwell Dog about doing a photo shoot just for dogs that walked in there this Saturday as long as they were wearing a little somethin'-somethin' from the shelves of Maxwell Dog. Done deal! So I brought my little set up there, my new but minimal light kit, and photographed a handful of dogs that came into the store. And here they are!We have Jason and Sara Harnell's bulldog Captain Butters wearing a harness from Bark Appeal. We have Monica Lagarce's Elliot wearing an RN Design collar along with a HotDog Maxwell Dog tag. There's Dee Segura's Maisey wearing a ...
I had the honor of photographing 13 dogs at Top Dog Barkery in Newport Beach over the weekend and it was a blast. Karen, the owner, has a Halloween contest every hour so the store was filled with people bringing their pooches all decked out in costumes. We took pictures of the dogs in and out of their costumes so that we could get a variety and of course we offered our beautiful curved metal prints to those who signed up for our photo shoot. To my dismay, the one thing I forgot to bring was my ottoman for the dogs to be photographed on and it was a bit of a detriment because we had a big hard box that some of the dogs did not like to get on. But all in all, it was a super successful day and ...

I was just voted as best pet photographer in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Hot List!!!Don't believe me, check it out... 2014 Best Pet Photographer!OK, I'm gonna be blunt with you... there was no Academy of Pet Photographers that decreed this award. This wasn't based on merit. Nor was it based on how many clients or sales or anything else except for your votes. I'm not disparaging the contest because it's kind of thrilling to have won. But if you're asking, yes, it's kind of a popularity contest. The one who has the biggest network and can rally that network to vote takes home the top prize. This year, it's me. And I thank my loyal network, you guys are amazing.I'm not embarrassed because take ...
