I am not always great about blogging individual sessions so this one is a few months old. No, not stale, I just neglected to put it up! This beautiful golden retriever is Dexter. His mom Bethany was looking for a photo shoot to put his beautiful image on the cover of the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue's calendar.
We met at Kenneth Hahn State Park in Culver City. Now what is so great about this huge park is that there are lots of gorgeous areas to shoot in including one area with the skyline of downtown L.A. in the background and one where you see the buildings of Century City. It just depends on where you go in the park, it's hard to get both skylines in one sunset shoot. We chose the Century City backdrop because there's lots of variety there -- Japanese bridge, forest, flowers, and the backdrop.
Now one of the reasons I'm coming back to this particular shoot is I just reprocessed this image for a folio box I'm having made. The box is Italian, has an image on the cover, and has either 10, 15, or 20 matted prints inside the box. It's really quite spectacular and it's a new product I'm offering. Once I get that and a couple of new items, I will show them but they are really quite extraordinary and meant for pet lovers who want a very high quality, unique product.
So I'm adding this cutie Dexter to the box so I wanted to rework the image just a bit to be on fine art paper. And I realized I never wrote a blog about him. So here he is with that magnificent backdrop. It's epic.
I'm also including his video. His mom bought a wall print and an album but these images were before the retouching took place so you see the leash on him. See, safety first, always. But of course, once she placed her order, all the leashes were taken out of the images and they were post-processed to perfection.
