My client said she told her grandmother, the minute she could afford it, she was going to have a professional pet photography session for her pugs Louie and Rhoda. And my friends, that is exactly what she conjured up.
Risa wanted more formal portraits with backdrops for her pair of pugs... brother and sister, actually. So I brought the brown hand-painted backdrop along with red and bone seamless papers, the latter of which made for tone-on-tone portraits.
We set up the studio in Risa's mother's home and off to the races we went. Now I really enjoy pugs. They are so expressive. Their eyes like big marbles... their black, snub noses. Yes, I know there is controversy about the brachycephalic breeds. But I am not going to judge an owner who has made their choice. And honestly, pugs are so delightful. Just little compact balls with curly tails. I've photographed many of them and just love how photogenic they are.
Now I so appreciate Risa selecting me when it came time to hire a pet photographer. Would you do me the honor as well? If you're in the Los Angeles area, I want to be your pet photographer.
