Ice Cream Social for Dogs is Back On!

Anyone who has been around these pages for a while knows -- or probably knows me from -- my Ice Cream Social for Dogs. Well, it's back on at four locations over the summer! But if you've done one before, why would you want to do one again? Because I just signed a book contract for a book on Dogs Eating Ice Cream! That's right, a book! And your dog may get to be in it, if I have any say (I'm pretty sure I have some say!) And if you've never done one before, you and your dog are in for a real treat. The Ice Cream Social for Dogs is only $29, which includes an 8x10 print and its digital files and of course, the doggy ice cream and the shoot itself. I'll have other options to purchase for on the ...

Ice Cream Social for Dogs is Back On!

Nick called. He said his girlfriend Lindsey had a little dog that was the love of her life. He knew Winston was her No. 1 guy and he wanted to do something special for her for Valentine's Day and that something special was a pet photography session. Now that is our specialty.I prepared a cute little gift certificate and it wasn't long before I heard from Lindsey, who thought Nick was the best boyfriend for surprising her with a pet photography shoot. Now in all honesty, we've been having quite a difficult March. Lindsey's photo shoot was the first one the entire month that didn't need to be postponed because of the weather. I know, Los Angeles is legendary for having great weather and we ...

Ice Cream Social for Dogs is Back On!

My client said she told her grandmother, the minute she could afford it, she was going to have a professional pet photography session for her pugs Louie and Rhoda. And my friends, that is exactly what she conjured up.Risa wanted more formal portraits with backdrops for her pair of pugs... brother and sister, actually. So I brought the brown hand-painted backdrop along with red and bone seamless papers, the latter of which made for tone-on-tone portraits. We set up the studio in Risa's mother's home and off to the races we went. Now I really enjoy pugs. They are so expressive. Their eyes like big marbles... their black, snub noses. Yes, I know there is controversy about the brachycephalic ...

Ice Cream Social for Dogs is Back On!

I already wrote about how I'm currently away from my worldwide headquarters because of a house remodel. I'm staying at a residential hotel in Woodland Hills, which is about 10 miles from my home. We've been exploring the neighborhood and my partner found Serrania Park just a short five minute drive away from us. It has a huge area where dogs are free to catch balls and flying discs. It also has hiking trails and a paved path around the perimeter, which I've been walking in the morning.Just as I enter the park, there is a small grassy hill and I've been thinking it's a great place to photograph a dog. So I thought maybe the park would be good for sunset shots. It turns out the area where the ...

Ice Cream Social for Dogs is Back On!

I'm a member of the Professional Photographers of America organization, which annually holds an International Print Competition. For the past two years, I've been entering and it's tough. Last year, one of my images went "Loan," the highest category but the other three in my case went zippity doo-dah. This year four out of four images in my case earned a merit, which made me a bronze medalist. Here's the press release from the PPA.Los Angeles Photographer Named Bronze Medalist at International Photographic Competition Diana Lundin of Modern Pet Portraiture is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography.(Los Angeles, CA) – Diana Lundin of Modern Pet Portraiture ...
